I bought this to store my 7DM2+Grip+1.4xTC+400DOv2 with hood on for day trips only. I like to keep my camera concealed when entering/leaving my house or a hotel room when traveling, so I wanted a day trip bag so I don't always need to remove the lens hood from the 400mm F/4 IS DO II. I also like the 7DM2+grip+1.4xTC connected on those trips. All else I need in the bag is my strap, and a lens cap/cover.This bag does the trick perfectly. I could probably fit some other things in the bag too but I like to travel minimally on day trips, which I do a lot. I didn't want a bag that could load up a ton of gear. I don't like taking several lenses and other gear in a bag for day trips, though I think a lot of other people do. I like to focus on using one lens and camera together on an outing and I need several bags to over the possibilities. One thing I really like about this bag is the well padded and sturdy hand strap on the top of the bag. I have other bags that have inferior hand straps. If you want to fit a lot of other lenses in a bag along with a long lens with body attached, this may not be the perfect bag for you. It is made, IMO, for a single lens on a body, with hood attached or not, depending on the length of the lens. Obviously, since it comes with spacers, it can be used in other ways, but it is more limited in that regard compared to other bags, and it is long and narrow in dimension.
