First off, the flap that covers the magazine pouches does not reach far enough to close when the pouch is loaded with two magazines however, This is not really an issue because having served in the Marine Corps Infantry, it is common practice to fold the pouch cover into the pouch itself to have your magazines more readily accessible as well as the mag pouch is perfectly snug enough to hold your magazines securely even when running extensive drills with plenty of running and horizontal movement. The only real need for the pouch covers I can see is to possibly help reduce the amount of dirt and debris that may get in the pouch when transporting around the vest. Aside from that one aspect, this vest is very durable, very light weight, and can be adjusted to fit your body so accurately that it almost feels like it is custom tailored just for you when properly fitted. the bottom of the vest has special straps that can be used to secure a tactical/battle belt to the bottom which can be used to add more pouches and variation to your kit. The photos I attached to this review show one possible set up. Having used many different kits/vests/plate carriers throughout my military and civilian career, I would say that this specific vest has been the most comfortable, durable, and effective kit for the cost that I have used so far and would highly recommend. It is also able to be fitted over a plate carrier when adjusted if needed.i had to send back the one i got. the button would not reach to secure the top flap over magazines. this was for all 4 pouches.. i tries 3 different magazine manufactures including p-mags
