This is a pretty awesome knife. Weight and balance feel perfect. Practical length. Fit and finish are impeccable. Love the thick laminate blade. Although I generally prefer wood grips, the Thermorun handle is very ergonomic and nicely textured for positive grip. Super sharp out of the box and I’m excited to have a convex grind on the blade. Newer to VG10 steel so have diamond sharpening stones on the way. The case is nice looking thick leather. Secure but needing break in time. I was worried about counterfeit product but box matched what Fallkniven displays on their website and then confirmed authenticity by using the hologram sticker and Hidden Tag app. For the money, this knife is a steal. I’m already trying to decide which Fallniven will be next for the collection.Disappointed at how quickly the blade tip broke, especially after having done research and reading all the rave reviews on this knife. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra for a Benchmade knifeI own the A1. It and this knife are phenomenal cutting tools, I'd actually recommend their kitchen knifes at this point ( for no reason other than it's fallkniven brand) like I said I only own and have used the A1As far as I can tell the dealer here is selling the real deal ( which is great!)Back to the F1It's more than likely going to be my go to and forever EDC knife as the edge retention and convenience of the smaller knife allows me to have a incredible knife thats going to last me and be passed down to my kids, kids.I know any knife can be abused and made to fail eventually if that's your thing, but for real life hard duty this is one serious piece of steel.Great blade steel, tough and sharpSuperb steel and fantastic edge, BUT do not let the concave edge be sharpened by regular means i.e. 21 degree use of stone or steel. The knife was designed to have an axe type edge. The concave edge was designed to outlast a V grind blade. It is simple to sharpen if you use a mouse pad placed on a small block and a 600 grit paper. 400 if it is very dull. The knife is almost flat and you drag it away from the 600 grit. The rubber will naturally push up as the blade is pulled away. You can also finish sharpening with a 2000 grit. Look up the sharpening tip on google but do not sharpen the regular way. Please read this. You do not need much to keep this blade sharp.[...] There are some pics that go with this forum and how to construct a simple sharpener out of a wooden block and old mouse pad. Keep the costs down folks and put your hard urned money into the knife and not the fancy dancy sharpener. The knife came with a superb leather sheath. It will last a life time. Research the steel and the knife and price.This is not a hunting knife but could do the job. The full tang protrudes a little at the end of the handle that will allow you to pound the knife into whatever. It was designed for pilots who have been shot down and have to depend on it This blade is made in Japan and not exported. It is a closely guarded metal. If you are a lady and you want a gift for your husband without blowing the budget, then this knife will win you lots of bonus points. If your husband hunts then you may want to look at Groman knives out of eastern Canada. They make a superb knife with balance and strength. They have a clearance section that allows you to buy knives a 1/2 price. This is very good for families an a budget but still want excellence at affordable prices. Remember folks..you get what you pay for but with a little snooping around you can get some excellent knives without spending 2 or 3 hundred dollars. Balance, strength and integrity of steel." The knife is made in Seki Japan which is great and well know for their VG-10.For the amount of money Fallkniven charges versus absolutely no support for their product and again non-existent warranty / customer service there are better manufacturers / knife makers out there that will stand behind their work. Another reason to buy Made in the USAGreat knife for edc and all tasks. Tried it on some basswood for feather sticks. Cuts some food for meal prep. I have carrried it for the last month as a edc knife and it’s great.Seller is also great no issues on multiple orders to Canada. Items are genuine.Beautiful knife at a great cost. Chicago Knife Works does an amazing job once again.
