I absolutely LOVE this pack, bought it in a Women's Small. Perfect size for travelling (can fit 3 pairs of shoes, electronics, 6 pants, 16 shirts, socks & underwear in it, plus everything else I need for a 6 month trip and still have room for more. The suspension system is great and I can barely feel the weight of it when I tighten all the straps. Also, has a safety whistle (which doubles as a buckle) on both the main pack and the day pack, which I've found handy and very ingenious. They truly thought through every part of this design. Haven't tried to bring it on board with me yet -- Looks bigger than my rolly suitcase so am a little nervous, but I'm hoping that if they're not looking too, too carefully, they'll let it through. If you want to be completely 100% sure your bag will be allowed on carry-on no matter how much you pack, though, you might want to look for a slightly smaller size (Maybe the Farpoint 55?), the size of this one is borderline in that aspect. That said, I researched bags for at least 45 hours, and am extremely glad I went with this one.I took this pack on a 17-day tour in November 2014 and absolutely loved it. That's saying a lot, considering how exhausted and cranky one can be after a 13-hour flight. The ONLY thing I wish was different would be if it were easier to pack/unpack the straps and harness for the big pack, but if you plan ahead, knowing that you'll need to step aside to do this, you'll be fine. The size of the pack kept me from taking too much stuff on my trip. When compared to everyone else on the trip (male, female, young & old), I had the smallest and lightest load to carry. I very highly recommend this for vacationing. The zip-off daypack was fantastic, but to be honest, I didn't ever use it zipped "on." I used it as my carry on. I have yet to do any hiking or camping with this pack, but I'm confident it would work well for multiple uses.I bought this bag for a month long trip in Southeast Asia. It had space for all of my clothing, toiletries and other belongings as well as space to add stuff as I traveled. The bag was easy to close and locked easily. I had trouble with some of my adjustments staying throughout the whole trip which at times made wearing my bag slightly uncomfortable. It was also occasionally awkward to have to unzip the whole bag to just grab one thing while in a full dorm, but that is the style of bag that I choose. Overall, I was very happy with the size and quality of this bag and will continue to use it on my trips that are longer than two weeks.I bought this for my daughter for her semester abroad: this is an amazing pack. She used the mini-pack that unzips from the main bag as a purse/sachel and we were both impressed with the roominess of the center pack: She is a bit of a minimalist, but she had room for extra clothes, her laptop, and toiletries. I am thinking of purchasing this for my son. I do not know about the sturdiness of this pack, we will find out when she comes back. That is why I gave it 4 stars: lets see about the utility and durability (I hope to update this post).I purchased this pack to take with me on a 3 month backpacking adventure through Ecuador and Peru. I won't leave for 2 more months, so I have yet to use the entire backpack, but I have played around with it and have used the day pack on a 5 mile hike. This bag is great. It has plenty of room (this is coming from a girly girl who always over packs), and has a lot of great extra pockets. The fact that it opens up like a suitcase is also very handy. I'll be sure to post another review once I get home from my trip. Hopefully I will still have good news!I bought this for a trip to Europe. I tried on many backpacks and this one fit the best. The store where I tried it on didn't have the size/colour that I wanted so I bought it on Amazon. It's lightweight, fits great, the day-pack is the right size, the back pad allows air flow, the zippers are all strong and all exposed zippers are lockable. The inside compartment is large, which is good, but I also recommend using Eagle Creek Cubes so that you don't have a mountain of clothes to dig through when you want to find something. It's just easier.I received this pack a few weeks ago and while I haven't taken it travelling yet, it appears to be great quality and comfortable (from my trials at home). It is quite small but I think that's a good thing as to avoid packing unnecessary things. The daypack is easily detachable and is of a good size (not too big or small). The daypack zip is in the back (against your back when you have it on) so can not be accessed while it on your back. I think this is a good safety feature.I took this pack to Australia for me, WOW! It was so much better than any other backpack or travel luggage I have used!! The take on/off shoulder backpack was crucial for daily walkabouts and the organization of the pack was fantastic!! Further, the comfort was pretty stellar and of course the quality that Osprey produces in the material was fantastic. I would take this anywhere and would hike long miles with it as well as travel to other places for extended periods of time. If you get this pack you will NOT be disappointed!!
