Osprey packs are amazing - the quality and features are second to none. I researched a variety of pack sizes and brands. I particularly like Osprey Stratos-line features with zipper access, air-frame, and rain cover included in its own stowage pocket.This 24 litre size is a ‘generous’ 24 litres. Some ‘bigger’ sized packs I’ve seen have less useful capacity. I will use this for day hikes in my backyard Rockie Mtns; as well for trips where we have porter support or in Europe where you can get another (luggage) bag moved from B&B to B&B.I bought the 36 liter version for longer multi-day hikes where I need to carry all my stuff from one place to the next, incl sleeping bag, mattress, stove, etc.
